Upper Peninsula Waterfalls Gorge FallsThe Gorge Falls in Gogebic County is on the Black River, about 14 miles north of Bessemer, and is named for the deep, narrow gorges on either side of the falls.

These scenic waterfalls drop from a height of 25 feet, and because of their proximity to the equally impressive Potawatomi Falls, are a convenient and easily accessible set of waterfalls to visit.

Rainbow Falls

Upper Peninsula WaterfallsLocated about 16 miles north of Bessemer, and a half mile hike from the mouth of the Black River in Gogebic County, Rainbow Falls is a scenic waterfall with an observation deck on the west side.

Rainbow Falls cascades down a 30 foot drop into an eroded pothole at it’s base, and is the last waterfall on the Black River as it enters Lake Superior.
